Past Missouri Outstanding Student Award Winner
Missouri Outstanding Dental Hygiene Student Award
Each dental hygiene school in Missouri will nominate one student from its senior class for this award.
Eligibility: Each dental hygiene school in Missouri will nominate one student from its senior class for this award based on leadership and enthusiasm for the profession.
Selection: MDHA's Student Liaison and chosen judges.
Recognition: At their graduation ceremony and at MDHA Annual Session in the fall of his/her graduation year. Recipients will receive a complimentary ticket to the President’s Dinner at MDHA Annual Session.
MDHA Oral Health Champion Award
This award acknowledges those who promote oral health in Missouri.
Eligibility: Open to Dental Hygienists, Dentists, & anyone who promotes oral health.
Selection: Chosen by the MPRG Council. One award is awarded annually.
*A letter of recommendation is required from an ADHA member.
Recognition: at MDHA's Annual Session in the fall
MDHA Legislator of the Year Award
Eligibility: A Missouri legislator who has worked to promote, advance or preserve the profession of dental hygiene or increase access to oral health care by sponsoring or moving forward legislation in the Missouri legislature.
Selection: Nominations will come from the MDHA Legislative Council and be approved by the MDHA Board of Trustees.
Diann Bomkamp Lifetime Service Award

Diann Bomkamp
Background: Diann Bomkamp has been a dental hygienist and ADHA member since 1970. Diann has served various leadership and mentorship roles in the Greater St. Louis Dental Hygienists’ Association, MDHA and the Missouri Hy-PAC. At the ADHA level she has served on committees, District VIII Trustee and ADHA President 2008-09. Diann is a strong advocate for Missouri dental hygienists. She instills the value of professionalism, mentorship, integrity, commitment, and service. Diann has worked tirelessly to protect, promote, and advance the profession of dental hygiene in the State of Missouri.
Eligibility: Current MDHA member Dental Hygienist who has at least 10 years of ADHA
membership (can be non-consecutive). The recipient needs to have a history of service at the local, state, or national level within the Association and exhibit the values of advocacy, professionalism, integrity, commitment, and service. The nomination letter should detail the member's service to the Association and demonstrate Diann's values.
Selection: A letter of recommendation is required from an ADHA member. Award recipients will be chosen by a subcommittee of the MPRG Council. One award is awarded annually.
Recognition: given at MDHA's Annual Session in the fall each year
