Course Description:

Dental caries continues to be a significant oral health concern worldwide. While fluoride has long been the cornerstone in the prevention and management of dental caries, there is an emerging need for dental professionals to explore alternative strategies and products to decrease and arrest caries effectively. This course is designed for dental hygienists and dental professionals seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in non-fluoride approaches to dental caries prevention and management.

Speaker Bio: Melia Lewis, MEd, RDH, BSDH

Melia Lewis, MEd, RDH is a proud clinical dental hygienist in Utah. She loves learning, educating, and advocating for dental hygienists to grow in their profession and to serve in their local communities. She speaks nationally, and loves to write and create helpful dental videos through her company Hygiene Edge, an online education platform to learn the latest tip, trip or technology. When she’s not talking about dentistry, she’s planning her next trip either out of the country or to a National Park.
